Kashmir to get its very first multiplex after three decades

Kashmir, August 14th,2022: Kashmir saw the shutting down of cinema halls in the early 90s after which there were no places for entertainment and films. But now after things improving, Kashmir will receive its first multiplex located in Srinagar in the month of September.

Designed by INOX with a seating capacity of 520 people, the multiplex will have three cinema halls and food courts for everyone to enjoy.

They also plan to include the local culture and art of Kashmiri wood ‘khatambandh’, which is going to be used in the theatre’s interior design such as lobbies and ceilings.

The cinema is set to showcase the latest Hindi and English movies to a population that definitely deserves the entertainment and fun.

The cinema’s owner is the son of Vijay Dhar who owned the historic Broadway theatre in Srinagar which burned down in the mid-1990s.

The theatre is being incorporated with the latest sound and screen systems.

The world of movies and entertainment is set to open its doors to the public of Kashmir in September. The cinema space is going to embrace Kashmiri art and culture with cutting-edge infrastructure and also support local food vendors and entrepreneurs in the food court.
