New Delhi (India), 6th May 2023: Former Reddit CEO and software entrepreneur Yishan Wong has some straightforward suggestions for tech workers who have been laid off or believe their jobs are in jeopardy. Improve your AI skills. According to him, even non-technologists can consider a job in AI.

In conversation with Fortune he said, “ You don’t need an enormous amount of technical skill…Non-technical people can build pretty valuable and novel applications on A.I. There’s this enormous amount of leverage that an individual can have.”

Yishan Wong is the current CEO of Terraformation, which he established. Previously, he was the CEO of Reddit, the Director of Engineering at Facebook, and a member of the engineering team that contributed to Paypal’s exponential expansion. Yishan is a Carnegie Mellon University computer science graduate.

Wong’s advice for tech employees is apt and relevant as despite the weakening of the IT job market in India, experts claim there is a serious scarcity of data and AI ability, according to a recent Bloomberg report.

There is a “insatiable need for talent,” according to Rahul Shah, co-founder of WalkWater Talent Advisors. “AI cannot be outsourced; it is essential to the organisation.”
