Lifeguard Confesses to Murder of MBBS Student, Search Underway in Bandra Sea

Mumbai (Maharashtra), 22nd Jan 2023: The missing case of Sadichcha Sane, the MBBS student, appears to be getting closer to a resolution as Mittu Singh, the lifeguard under police custody, confessed to having murdered her.

Following this, teams of divers from the Indian Navy launched search operations to retrieve her remains from the region near Bandra.

Mittu Singh confessed that he had attached a life jacket to Sadichcha’s body after the murder and carried it as far as 100 meters into the sea in Bandra. The Navy is focusing its efforts in this area. In addition to the Navy, private agencies are also involved in the search operations.

Commenting on the development, Mumbai DCP Krishnakant said that the accused had shown them the spot where the body was disposed and the search operations are going on accordingly.

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena’s Manisha Kayande expressed her concern over the delay in the case and demanded a further inquiry. She requested the Maharashtra Home Department and Chief Minister speed up the procedures and make sure police take man-missing complaints seriously.

The investigation team has also confiscated the T-shirt worn by Mittu Singh on November 29th, which is the day of the alleged murder.

Sane went missing from Mumbai’s Bandra Beach on the same day after meeting the arrested lifeguard.
