Lithuanian Delegation Visits Gautam Buddha University to Discuss Academic and Cultural Collaboration

Greater Noida News (06/03/2026): A delegation from the Indo Baltic Society for Consciousness in Lithuania visited Gautam Buddha University, Greater Noida, on March 5, 2026, to explore possibilities for academic collaboration, cultural exchange, and research partnerships. The visit was part of the delegation’s broader academic and spiritual engagement programme in India.

The delegation consisted of ten members representing Lithuania and Sweden. During their visit, they held a meeting with the Vice Chancellor of the university, Rana Pratap Singh. The interaction focused on strengthening institutional ties and identifying areas where both sides could work together in the fields of education, research, and cultural understanding.

During the discussion, participants exchanged views on subjects such as Ayurveda, biological sciences, interdisciplinary research, and innovative teaching initiatives. Both sides also explored opportunities for future academic cooperation between Lithuanian institutions and the university.

Members of the visiting group expressed a strong interest in India’s philosophical heritage, particularly Buddhist thought, meditation practices, and traditional knowledge systems. As part of the programme, the delegation toured the academic facilities of the School of Buddhist Studies and Civilization and visited the Centre for Buddhist Studies and Meditation at the university.

The visit provided an opportunity for the delegation to interact with scholars and faculty members engaged in research on Buddhist philosophy and contemplative traditions. The discussions emphasized the importance of promoting deeper understanding of Buddhist wisdom and fostering cross-cultural academic dialogue between India and Europe.

The programme and meetings with the visiting delegation were coordinated by Chintala Venkata Sivasai, Director of International Affairs and Head of the School of Buddhist Studies and Civilization, along with Sanjay Kumar Sharma from the School of Information and Communication Technology.

The visit concluded on a positive note, with both sides expressing their willingness to strengthen academic cooperation, research partnerships, and cultural engagement between institutions in Lithuania and Gautam Buddha University. The interaction also highlighted the growing global interest in Indian knowledge traditions, Buddhist philosophy, and interdisciplinary academic collaboration.
