National News (26/08/2026): Larsen & Toubro’s (L&T) Construction & Mining Machinery business has entered into a strategic partnership with FAYAT Road Equipment Division (FRED) India to market and distribute BOMAG’s specialised road construction equipment in the Indian market.
Under the partnership, L&T will be responsible for marketing, sales, after-sales support and the supply of spare parts for BOMAG’s range of road milling machines, soil stabilisers and cement spreaders in India. The collaboration is aimed at expanding the availability of advanced road construction technologies and providing customers with comprehensive machinery solutions backed by a strong nationwide support network.
FAYAT is France’s largest independent construction group and has established itself as a global player in road equipment. BOMAG, headquartered in Germany, is a key brand within FAYAT’s Road Equipment Division and is known internationally for developing innovative technologies and sustainable machinery for road construction, maintenance and infrastructure projects.
The partnership combines BOMAG’s specialised expertise in road construction equipment with L&T’s extensive market presence, established customer relationships and nationwide service capabilities. The companies expect the collaboration to provide Indian customers with access to advanced machinery supported by reliable local services.
The addition of BOMAG equipment will also expand L&T’s existing road machinery portfolio. With the new range, L&T will be able to cater to a wider variety of requirements related to road construction, rehabilitation, maintenance and broader infrastructure development. The combined portfolio is expected to enable the company to offer a more comprehensive range of road machinery solutions to its customers.
Commenting on the partnership, Anil V. Parab, Senior Executive Vice President and Whole-time Director – Manufacturing, L&T, said the company has a long-standing track record of introducing advanced equipment technologies to the Indian market.
He noted that L&T was among the pioneers in bringing hydraulic excavators to India and said the inclusion of BOMAG’s specialised road construction equipment would further strengthen the company’s legacy of introducing advanced machinery solutions.
Parab also highlighted L&T’s nationwide service network and its central warehouse in Nagpur, which will support customers with timely technical assistance and after-sales services throughout the operating life of the equipment. He said the collaboration between L&T and FAYAT is expected to contribute to higher customer productivity, improved project execution and a strong foundation for long-term growth in India.
Abhijit Som, Managing Director – FRED India, said India represents an important strategic growth market for the FAYAT Group. He pointed out that the country’s continued infrastructure development, driven by its long-term vision of becoming a developed nation by 2047, is likely to generate increasing demand for efficient, technologically advanced and sustainable road construction solutions.
According to Som, FAYAT’s presence across more than 170 countries and its decades-long industry experience position the group to contribute its international expertise and technologies to India’s infrastructure development journey.
He further said that bringing BOMAG’s specialised road construction technologies to India through L&T’s extensive market reach and established service infrastructure would create significant value for customers. The partnership, he added, will give customers access to advanced and dependable equipment solutions supported by strong local sales and after-sales capabilities.
The collaboration marks another step toward strengthening the availability of specialised road construction machinery in India, while combining global equipment technology with L&T’s established domestic market and service network.
