Maheish Girri inaugurates “Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojna” at Laxmi Nagar, East Delhi

August 28, 2014, New Delhi| Member of Parliament, East Delhi, Maheish Girri inaugurated the launch of Punjab National Bank, “Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojna” along with District Magistrate Kunal Kapoor. This camp was organized at Scope Minar Auditorium, Laxmi Nagar, Delhi.
The scheme which intends to accomplish the objective of housing for all by providing basic bank accounts with a debit card with inbuilt accident insurance. It also aims to bring 7.5 crore unbanked families into the fold of banking system by opening at least one account for each household.
Maheish Girri said, “This is a great initiative by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi as it will help millions of unbanked households. Financial inclusion is the key to sustainable development. BJP strongly believes in this and is working on it.” He also said, “This scheme will not only help the families below poverty line but will also strengthen the large portion of the rural economy and the economic resources would be capitalized.” Discussing the scheme he said that, in first phase we intend each household on the banking network. In the second phase, we want insurance facilities to reach each individual. We will also make provision for a small over draft facilities to their account at a later time.
