Making a headstart in its effort to provide a political alternative to the people of Goa, Aam Aadmi Party today announced the first list of candidates for the upcoming Goa assembly polls.
The list of candidates announced in a press conference include Valmiki Naik for Panjim, Molu Velip for Shiroda, Cruz Silva for Velim and Ajeetsingh Rane for Mayem seat. The announcement was made by AAP leader Dr Oscar Rebello in Goa.
The selection process of the candidates began with the constituency level volunteer team proposing names of candidates who then filled a candidature form with all relevant personal details. These names were then screened by the state level screening committee and ultimately vetted and the party’s choice declared by the Political Affairs Committee, chaired by AAP national convenor, Arvind Kejriwal yesterday, AAP leader Pankaj Gupta said.
Pankaj Gupta, who is also the Goa incharge of the party, said that the candidates have been selected after a due process which included people’s feedback and views. We will complete this process of announcing the candidates for all 40 constituencies by the end of October.
We are committed to give a corruption free and transparent government of the people and with representatives from among the grass root workers. Unlike the other big parties in the state embroiled in corruption and internal fights, the Aam Aadmi Party unit is enthusiastic that with each passing day people are joining hands in large numbers to give a clear mandate for a Aam Aadmi Party government in Goa, he added.
Thanks
Regards,
