New Delhi(30/09/2019): The Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee President and National Spokesman Manjinder Singh Sirsa has strongly condemned the Congress party for opposing the commuting of death sentence of Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana and said that whatever be the statement of Congress, the Punjabis have wholeheartedly welcomed the decision take. on the initiative of the SAD.
In a statement released here today Mr Sirsa said the Punjabis are shocked at the reaction of the Congress party on the issue of Bhai Rajoana beacuse the same party had welcome decision of commuting of killers of Rajiv Gandhi and had thanked the UPA Government.
He said that this decision has been taken to help Punjabis return to mainstream who had faced troubled time in Punjab. He said that more than 25 thousand Punjabi youth are missing since those black days and more than 50 thousand youth lost their lives in Punjab and 10 thousand lost their lives outside Punjab during the tenure of Congress Governments.
He said that when the Shiromani Akali Dal is making efforts to help these youth in getting justice, the Congress party has started opposing it, forgetting that it had attacked Sri Darbar Sahib and killed thousands of innocent devotees.
The SAD Spokesman said that this is a case of emotions of Punjabis who suffered worst during 1984 and 1995 in Delhi and Punjab. He said that Congress party should realise how the wounds, given by it to Punjabis are getting healed after decades of black days.
Sirsa said that it is on pious occasion of 550th of Praksh Purab of Guru Nanak Dev ji that the Centre Government led by Prime Minister Narinder Modi is making moves after the SAD Patron Parkash Singh Badal, President S. Sukhbir Singh Badal and Mrs Harsimrat Kaur Badal made sincere efforts to heal the wounds given by Congress party.
He said that instead of opposing these decisions the Congress party should apologise to the Punjabis for throwing them in era of turbulence.
