MD NMRC transferred – Govt. applies break on Greater Noida Metro?

Noida (21/04/2017) : Santosh Kumar Yadav who was made NMRC Managing Director on April 27, 2016 felt short of just a week to complete a whole year on this prestigious post.
Santosh Yadav’s name featured in the list of officers transferred today by UP government.
A 1995 batch IAS officer who also happens to have a coveted IITian tag, has also been secretary to the chief minister in Lucknow during SP government and is considered close to Akhilesh Yadav. Possibility is that this might have irked the present regime.
After about a month of Yogi government coming to power, Santosh Kumar Yadav is arguably the senior most ‘Yadav’ officer transferred so far. He was deep into all the technicalities of the projects ..New comer will need time to grasp the all the aspects of the project and hence this could slow down the pace of execution of NMRC Metro projects.
Although his tenure at NMRC has been a very fruitful one and he was very instrumental in getting quick necessary clearances for NMRC funds from both state and Union government. It is learnt that he has used his personal liasonning for this purpose.
He has also been at the helm of ensuring adequate measures , plans and policies in place for parking , Bus Transport and security at NMRC Metro Stations. He has conceptualized a single smart card for single city for multi-modal transport. All the major contracts and MoUs have been signed during his tenure. Technological – mega projects needs longer tenures for the officers heading the organisation for better planning and execution.
Now recently appointed CEO of Noida and Greater Noida authority Amit Mohan Prasad has been given the additional charge of NMRC MD. Prasad who already seems to be trying hard to get holds of these two very high-budget civic bodies of India might have got his plate over-filled with this additional responsibility. It will be interesting to see if Amit Mohan can simultaneously handle so many responsibilities or whether it happens to be just a temporary arrangements till state-government find an appropriate replacement. As the NMRC is a company funded majorly by both the Authorities , Single officer heading 3 entities will facilitate better support and clearances from both the Authorities.
Indeed Noida – Greater Noida residents do not want to be caught in this settling-scores session of government and bureaucracy and they would just want their Metro to become operational as per schedule.
