New Delhi, 30 October, 2016:  Union Minister Vijay Goel today celebrated Diwali with soldiers of the Indian Army at the Rajputana Rifles Regimental Centre in capital’s Delhi Cantt area. Goel stated that the bravery of our soldiers is exemplary and the nation must unite as one to support them and hail their efforts in safeguarding our frontiers and protecting us from adversities. He even hailed the recent surgical strikes carried out by India’s Special Forces on Pakistani terror camps along the LoC and stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the forces feel a renewed spirit and have a free hand to counter any threat that deters peace of the nation.

Goel was also joined by young volunteers from the Nehru Yuva Kendra who came in large numbers to cheer and greet the jawans with greeting cards and gave a big boost to the Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi’s idea of #Sandesh2Soldiers.

Goel had earlier shared his #Sandesh2Soldiers initiated by the Hon’ble PM Sh. Narendra Modi, via a video message in which he said, “From the icy heights to the dense forests, our jawans continue to protect us from enemies, and I thank them for their inspiring valour and patriotism.”

At the Diwali Abhinandan Milan, soldiers along with Goel shared many lighter moments with jokes, songs and pleasantries. The event concluded with Goel sharing sweets and gifts with each soldier of the Rajputana Regiment present in the function amidst applauses and cheers of Bharat Mata ki Jai from the crowd.
