Mountaineer Sheetal Raj, Youngest Girl From Uttarakhand To Scale Mt Everest Felicitated in Delhi!

New Delhi: Sheetal Raj, a Young Mountaineer who hails from the Salmoda village in Pithoragarh district in Uttarakhand has become the youngest girl from State to climb Mount Everest.

Who has managed to create history was honoured at a function organised by
Manoj Gorkela, Deputy Advocate General of Supreme Court of India and Gorkela Law Office for her massive achievemet.

Sheetal was a part of an expedition called ‘Climbing Beyond the Summit: Everest Expedition 2019.’ This expedition was sponsored by several institutions. Scaling the highest peak in the world was the second grand achievement for Sheetal. The first achievement was scaling Mount Kanchenjunga, which is currently the third highest peak in the world.

The Felicitation Program was attended by the who’s who from Uttarakhand Mountaineering,Bar Council, NGO, Social Working Community and also from the adventure sport.

While Addressing the Gathering, Manoj Gorkela, Deputy Advocate General of Supreme Court of India, said,
"Girls like sheetal should be kept in state government departments. So they can attract people like Magnet to do something in life. Its her dream that shw wants to something for the Uttarakhand Tourism. My only motive of organizing this program is that lacs of women should get inspired by her."

The Young Mountaineer Sheetal Raj addressing the gathering, spoke about the struggles in her life and gave a few tips to overcome the difficulties and problems to achieve greater heights.
The 22-year old further shared her experiences and boosted the morale of the everyone to achieve something in life.

While speaking to Ten News Exclusive Sheetal said,

"I have just scaled the highest peak in the world which is my second grand achievement. Earlier, i had also scaled Mount Kanchenjunga, which is currently the third highest peak in the world. I’m really happy and there are lots of people who are meeting and getting inspired by me. From 2020 my mission is planet 50-50, where girls and boys should be treated equally."

She further said, "From 2020 we are starting a expedition for all the women’s. In mountaineering there are very few women. If i talk about percentage on 5% of women are there as compared to Men. So i want to do something big in it."
