National Child Development Council to Develop India’s First Entirely English Literate Panchayat in Kerela

New Delhi: In a bid to promote English Language in rural India, an NGO, National Child Development Council (NDMC) is going to start a pilot project at Mavoor Grama Panchayath of Kerala state.

Officials of the NDMC launched the logo of this pilot project today in New Delhi.
Under English Literacy Programme, the NGO has planned to make Mavoor Grama Panchayath (Kerala) the first complete English Literate Panchayath in India by the end of 2018.

While speaking in the logo launching programme, the master trainer of the NDMC and founder of ‘One world, one language’ movement, Baba Alexander said, “This is a great project and indeed first of its kind in the history of India. The initiative will provide assistance to the individuals of a whole society and promote the importance of English language.”

In addition to that, “The project offers a fine example of how to educate and break the barriers of language in a community and helps them to explore the maximum opportunities of the current world” he added.

This pilot project has planned to be completed within 6 months and get declared on International Literacy Day, September 8, 2018. National Child Development Council (NDMC) is a self-governing national child welfare organisation established to promote women and child welfare in India.
