The 12th National CSR Summit 2024, themed “Empowering Through CSR: Addressing Climate Change and Water Sustainability with Mission LiFE,” successfully took place at the India International Centre in New Delhi. Organized by the Shikhar Organisation for Social Development in collaboration with the UN Global Compact Network India, the event brought together diverse stakeholders to address pressing environmental challenges.
The summit opened with a welcome address by Dr. R. K. Suri, who emphasized the urgent need for collaborative action on climate issues. Keynote speakers, including Ratnesh, Executive Director of the UN Global Compact Network India, and Manish Bandish, Managing Director of Mother Dairy, underscored the critical role of corporate social responsibility in fostering sustainable practices.
Two technical sessions marked the day’s discussions. The first, moderated by Dr. R. K. Suri, focused on climate change mitigation, featuring experts like Ashwini Saxena, CEO of JSW Foundation, and Archana Sahay, CSR Head at Dell Technologies. The panel explored innovative strategies to reduce carbon emissions and promote renewable energy.
Following a brief tea break, the second session, led by Prof. Pooran C. Pandey, addressed water conservation. Panelists, including Parivesh Chugh from GAIL and Dr. Subramanya Kunsur of AquaKraft Ventures, shared best practices in water stewardship and community-led initiatives.
The summit concluded with a valedictory session and the National CSR Awards 2024, honoring outstanding contributions in corporate social responsibility. Notable attendees included Ajay Chaudhry, IPS, and Pravesh Dudani, Founder of Medhavi Skills University.
Nadeem Akhtar, Founder of the Shikhar Organisation, expressed gratitude to participants, emphasizing that the summit’s outcomes will guide future CSR strategies and community initiatives aimed at promoting sustainable practices.
