Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Inter-Technical University Sports Fest 2024-25 at Galgotias College

The Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Inter-Technical University Sports Fest 2024-25 (AKTU Zonal Fest) concluded October 24, 2024, with grandeur at the Galgotias College of Engineering and Technology campus. A total of 1,622 participants from 24 colleges in the Gautam Buddh Nagar district showcased their talents at this sports festival. The winning teams are as follows:

The women’s basketball team, the men’s team in the 800-meter race, and the men’s badminton team from Galgotias College of Engineering and Technology secured first place. The men’s team from GL Bajaj Institute of Technology topped the 200-meter race, while the women’s teams excelled in the throwing events, discus throw, volleyball, and badminton.

The women’s team from Noida Institute of Engineering won the 100-meter race, and the men’s team excelled in the 400-meter race. Both the men’s and women’s teams won the 4*100 relay, along with the women’s team in long jump, men’s team in shot put, and both teams in javelin throw. The women’s kabaddi team also secured first place.

The women’s teams from Greater Noida Institute of Engineering and Technology won in the 200, 400, and 800-meter races, while the men’s team topped the discus throw. The men’s team from Ram-Eesh Institute excelled in both the 100-meter race and long jump.

The men’s and women’s teams from JSS Academy won in high jump, while the women’s team in kho-kho, the men’s team in table tennis, and the men’s team in chess also secured first place. The women’s team from Lloyd Institute topped the chess event, and the women’s team from Dronacharya Institute excelled in table tennis.

This prestigious event was organized under the aegis of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow, with Galgotias College hosting the Sports Fest for the Gautam Buddh Nagar zone.

Dr. Rajiv Singh, Deputy Registrar of AKTU University, attended the event as the chief guest. He honored all the winning participants by presenting medals and trophies, emphasizing the importance of perseverance and dedication in sports during his address.

Sunil Galgotia, Chairman-GEI, and Dr. Dhruv Galgotia, CEO-GEI, conveyed to the students that sports are an essential part of our lives. They help maintain our health and contribute to mental, physical, and social development. Sports enhance our physical strength and keep us fit while teaching us important lessons in science, psychology, organization, discipline, and ethics.

Dr. Vikram Bali, Director of GCET, praised the hard work and dedication of everyone involved in the festival, stating that this would be a memorable and successful celebration of sportsmanship and talent.

Prashant Bhardwaj, Sports Officer, and Dr. Akash Malik, Professor In-Charge of Sports, were also present, along with all department heads and participants, who played a significant role in making this event a success.
