New Delhi, 1st June 2023: The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) officials have revealed further cuts and reductions in the syllabus.

The students enrolled in class 10 will no longer be studying the topics of the periodic table, democracy and sources of energy, since they were removed as a part of the ‘rationalisation process’ meant to reduce the ‘burden on the students.’

This comes as earlier this year, authorities scraped the theory of evolution, citing that the portions were high on the difficulty level, and had increasingly overlapping content.

Authorities further added that the content was irrelevant in the present context and assured that the students would be taught these concepts if they choose to pursue the specialisations after grade 10.

Following the most recent revision, democracy, challenges to democracy, and political parties were also dropped for Class 10 pupils.
