Mumbai, 1st June 2023: Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur stated on Thursday that they are dealing with wrestlers’ protests against Wrestling Federation of India head Brij Bhushan Singh “very sensitively” and that all players are important to them.

“We’re taking this (wrestlers’ protest) very seriously.” We are doing all that the players requested. Once the chargesheet is filed by the Delhi police, the necessary action would be done.

“I would like to say to all those politicising this issue that the law is equal for everyone and all the players are important to us,” Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur said during a ceremony in Mumbai.

He added that a committee of administrators has been formed by the IOA authorities and requested the wrestlers to have patience until the investigation is complete.

The protestors have given the government an ultimatum of 5 days to adhere to the requests, after farm leader Ramesh Tikait, successfully convinced them not to immerse their medals in the Ganga.
