New Delhi (15/03/2023): The names of the proposed new directors of NDTV and the updated share-holding structure have been shared by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting with the Union Home Ministry for security clearance, the Lok Sabha was told on Tuesday.
By purchasing a 64.71 percent share in NDTV last year, Adani Group took control of the organisation.
Anurag Thakur, the minister of information and broadcasting, stated in a written response to a question in the Lok Sabha that M/s New Delhi Television Ltd. (NDTV) informed the ministry of a change in its shareholding structure in accordance with Clause 29 of the Policy Guidelines for Uplinking and Downlinking of Television Channels in India, 2022.
Answering a question from the leader of the opposition party Manish Tiwari, Anurag Thakur said, “This ministry has shared the revised shareholding pattern of the company with the Ministry of Home Affairs for security clearance”
“Additionally, M/s NDTV has provided this Ministry with the information regarding its suggested new directors. The Ministry of Home Affairs has been notified of the proposed roster of new directors and is awaiting their security clearance “stated Thakur.
