New Delhi : Economic Outlook 2019, was organised in New Delhi today by the Indian Chamber of Commerce and supported by ICSSR.
Dr. Rajiv Kumar, Vice Chairman, NITI Aayog, Govt. of India was the chief guest for the event and the key note speaker for the inaugural session.
While speaking in the brain storming event he said that “the Government wants a much larger formal economy with strong feedback mechanism from stakeholders. With regards to agriculture, the Government wants to promote agro processing and agro exports in India. India’s share of merchandise world trade has also come down and it is important to increase that share. ”
He also stated that the Government would rank 740 government hospitals in the country to standardize service delivery in the healthcare sector. Development should become a mass movement asserted Dr. Rajiv Kumar and Private sector led growth should provide opportunities for the population at large.
While intreacting with media Rajiv Kumar, Vice-Chairman of NITI Aayog on commenting on employment data report said ” We are making the best efforts to reverse the situation. The govt will take several steps to increase the growth rate in the time to come, employment can’t be discussed separately.”
