Inter-State Racket of Drug-Traffickers busted and 7.50 Kgs. of high grade Opium recovered.

A team of officers of Special Cell led by Inspector Sanjay Nagpal under the supervision of ACP Sandeep Byala, has arrested an Inter-State Drug Trafficker namely Palvinder Singh, age 32 yrs, s/o Sukhdev Singh r/o Amritsar,Punjab.Total 7.50 kgs.of high grade Opium has been recovered from his possession.In this regard a case vide FIR No. 50/15 dated 28.8.15 u/s 18 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Special Cell, Delhi.

There was information that some members of a big Inter-State gang of Drug Traffickers is using Delhi as a transit point to transport drugs from U.P. to Punjab. In this regard Special Cell was developing information for the last about two months. On 28.8.15, HC Hari Chand and HC Mandeep Singh received specific input that one person with large quantity of high grade opium would go towards Punjab from Mukarba Chowk, Delhi. On this information,a special team was constituted consisting of SI Kuldeep Bhoria, HC Ajay Kumar, HC Pawan, Ct. Kuldeep, Ct. Devender and both the aforementioned Head Constables, to take the appropriate action in the matter.
The team took position at Mukarba Chowk, Delhi. At about 6:30 p.m., one person was spotted according to the tip off, who was carrying a bag. Immediately, he was overpowered by the police team. The name of the suspect carrying the bag was revealed to be Palvinder Singh. Search of the bag was conducted and 7.50 kgs.of high grade Opium was recovered from the bag. Hence he was arrested in the case.

Profile of accused Palvinder

Accused Palvinder Singh, age 32 yrs, s/o Sukhdeo Singh, r/o Dashmesh Nagar, PS Jhandewalan Guru, Amritsar, Punjab has studied upto 12th class. He is a farmer by occupation. Having fallen into the bad company of local persons, he started consuming opium for the last few years. Gradually, he came in contact with the local suppliers and realizing the potential of making fast money propelled him into becoming a local supplier of the said contraband for the local consumers. Later came in touch with some suppliers of Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Haryana. Palvinder Singh expanded his network to make more money and he started transporting the said contraband from Uttar Pradesh for supplying to local traffickers and peddlers in Amritsar and rest of the state of Punjab.
Further investigation in respect of the main supplier and the receivers of the said contraband, is in progress.
