YOUTHS ARRESTED INVOLVED IN 10 BURGLARY CASES

With the arrest of two youths, the staff of Police Station Subhash Place of North West Distt has worked out 10 cases of night burglary reported in the area of Police Station Keshav Puram and Subhash Place. The accused have been identified as Pankaj 19 years r/o JJ Colony, Wazir Pur  and Karan age 19 years r/o Mangol Puri.

INCIDENT:-

            Brief facts of the case are that on 03-09-2015,  the complaint of Md. Inzamam S/o Mohd.ZaffarKajmi R/o M-417, Shakur Pur Village, Delhi, who runs a mobile phone shop, reported that someone had broken shutter of his shop and stolen around 25/26 mobile phones of various models besides one laptop and cash Rs.5,000/-. A case vide  FIR No. 757/2015, dated 03-09-2015, u/s 457/380 IPC was registered at PS Subhash Place, N.W. Distt., Delhi accordingly.

INVESTIGATION:-

 In the wake of increasing incidents of theft and burglary, a dedicated team comprising SI Dinesh No. D-4722. ASI Rakesh, No. 3057/NW,  HC Ravinder No. 567/NW. Ct. Gaurav No. 2328/NW.Ct.Devender No. 1987/NW.Ct. Ajay No. 2860/NW was formed  under the  supervision of Inspr. Kishore, SHO/Subhash Place and over all supervision of Sh. Surender Dahiya, ACP/Saraswati Vihar, North West Distt. Delhi.  The  CCTV footage of the surrounding area of the place of occurrence were taken and analyzed.  One footage showed some youths moving  in suspicious condition. The information was developed and informers were activated. Finally,  team zeroed down on two youths. Acting on the secret information they were intercepted near FUN Cinema, NSP. They were found carrying mobile phones and laptop.  On asking about carrying of a large number of mobile phones, they could not give convincing  reply.  They were subjected to sustained  interrogation and eventually spilled the beans. They  confessed to having stolen these mobile phones and laptop. During investigation   42 mobile phones, one laptop and two silver idols in different cases were recovered at their instance.  They were found involved in 10 cases of burglary registered at P.S. Subhas Place and Keshav Puram in North-West District.

INTERROGATION:-

During interrogation, the accused persons have admitted that both are associates of each other. They used to do recee of the area to target the mobile phone shops.  They preferred  the shutter fitted shops for burglary.   They  confessed to have committed  burglaries in the area  of PS Subhash Place and Keshav Puram.

Profile of the accused persons

During interrogation, accused Pankaj stated that he was born in Delhi at the given address i.e, C-476, JJ Colony, Wazir Pur Delhi in a poor family. He came in contact with bad elements of the locality since his childhood and started taking alcohol. He is illiterate and never went to school. To meet his demands of alcohol, he started committing petty thefts in the nearby areas. Later, he came in contact with accused Karan who was resident of Mangol Puri area about one year back. Karan was also habitual drinker of alcohol and in  habit of theft to meet his demands of alcohol. Both started committing night burglaries in the shops and houses by breaking locks with the iron rods.

During interrogation, accused Karan stated that he was born in Delhi at the given address B-112, Mangol Puri Delhi in a poor family. His grandfather had shifted to Delhi from Patiala Punjab which was his permanent address. He studied up to 11^th class. He came in contact with some bad elements and started drinking alcohol and he left his studies. To meet his demands of alcohol, he indulged in  petty thefts in the nearby areas. About one year back he had gone to Wazir Pur JJ Colony to meet his maternal grandmother (NAANI) and came in contact with accused Pankaj. Pankaj was also habitual drinker of alcohol since his childhood and he was also in habit of theft to meet his demands of alcohol. Both started committing night burglaries in the shops and houses by breaking locks with the iron rods. They do recee of the targeted premises before committing thefts.
