Nirbhaya finally gets justice after seven-long-years; PM Modi, Union Ministers express happiness

Nirbhaya finally got justice after seven years of wait. The four convicts of the Nirbhaya gang-rape and murder case were hanged to death in the capital on March 20 at 5:30 in the morning.

Talking about the excelled power that the Indian women have achieved in every field, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that, “Our women has excelled in every field.” Justice has been done. It is of utmost importance to ensure the dignity and safety of women,” he added. “We have to work together to create a nation where women empowerment is focused, where equality and opportunity are emphasized,” the PM further said.

Expressing the delay in justice for the victim and her family, Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said that the culprits who had committed the crime were punished. He wished if the hanging could have taken place little earlier.

Union Minister Smriti Irani also expressed her sympathy with the victim’s mother, Asha Devi, saying, “I have seen the struggle of a mother for years. Today, I greet this day with aplomb for Nirbhaya as she finally received justice.
This is a message fpr all those who think they can commit crimes against women and escape the law,” Irani said.
