Attacking Bihar CM Nitish Kumar vociferously, NCP MP and senior leader from Bihar Tariq Anwar today asked CM Nitish to resign if he is not able to get special package from his coalition partner BJP.

He said, “On the issue of special status to Bihar, the discussions are going on for much time but no step has been taken in this regard.

In year 2000 Bihar was bifurcated to make Jharkhand. The resources that joint Bihar had like mining plants, irrigation resources etc went with Jharkhand hence for Bihar to sustain after that period it was felt that Bihar must be given special status and funds accordingly”.

Stressing on the need of hour he said, “Now that both Bihar and Central government are run by same coalition, hence this is the most adequate time to give Bihar it’s right”.

He has also written to PM Modi about it, talking about which he said, ” I have written to PM regarding this and I believe that even today Bihar is one of the most backward state in India be it per capita index or per capita development index etc. Bihar has most unemployment and there is maximum immigration from Bihar. Hence it really needs financial help to get developed”.

Adding further he said, “PM Modi had announced 1.65 thousand croroe package was announced from a public podium during an election rally. However not even a portion of it has been given to Bihar. It is shocking that even CM Nitish is silent on it. His silence is questionable”.

He also challenged Nitish Kumar and said, “I today urge Nitish Kumar to take this cause seriously and resume fight for the rights of Bihar people”.

He also appreciated TDP campaign for Andhra, “I am delighted that Andhra Pradesh leaders have come forward to raise the voice of their state people and I expect that Bihar MLA’s, MP’s and Government should follow their footsteps. If special package is not given, Nitish Kumar must take strong step and break alliance from NDA government”.
