NOFAA protests against Noida Authority demanding coverage of drain

Greater Noida:  Today morning, NOFAA (Noida Federation of Apartment Owners Associations ) and residents of F Block, Sector 50, Noida, organized a peaceful protest demanding coverage of drain in front of their apartments. Children’s along with their parents held play cards in their hands and marched on the roads raising slogans against Noida Authority for coverage of drains in front of their societies.

Rajesh Sagay, a resident of one of the society in F block, Sector 50 said, “It’s been three years, we have been repeatedly requesting Noida Authority for the coverage of the drain, but as of now, no action has been taken. The work had started three years back, but after doing 10 % of the work, the contractor left it and since then it’s pending.”

“Poisonous gases are coming out from this drain making it difficult for all the nearby residents to pass that stretch. It’s also harmful for growing children and senior citizens and there is always a chance of any mishap as the drain is uncovered. We have given written applications, approached authority officials and even met the CEO Ritu Maheshwari, but all efforts have gone in vain. So now we taken the path of ‘Gandhigiri’, hoping that our demands will be met.”
