Noida, 4th September, 2022: The construction of Noida International Airport Terminal Building has begun, with the airport management aiming to begin operations by the end of 2024.
Noida International Airport CEO Christoph Schnellmann stated, “The airport’s operations are progressing as planned. Excavation work has begun, and we are confident that the airport will be completed on time by the end of 2024.”
While discussing the Terminal building’s architecture, the CEO mentioned that it is a Perfect blend of Indian warmth and Hospitality with Swiss efficiency.
With the Indian culture of meeting and greeting in mind, the terminal has been constructed with a spacious inviting forecourt for travellers to socialise or large families to walk through.
“Families will be able to meet and spend time together in the courtyard while they travel through the airport. The white, translucent, wavy roof will provide passengers with a relaxing atmosphere. The design would combine Indian warmth and hospitality with Swiss efficiency “He stated.
As a digital airport, NIA will enable a continuous and mostly contactless transit through the airport via integrated systems and services, including those provided by technology partners. Indoor geolocation, identity management, flow management, data mining, and IoT will all help with this.
“In accordance with the Indian Ministry of Civil Aviation’s DigiYatra Policy and IATA’s ONE ID programme, the digital environment at NIA will comprise a paperless and hassle-free biometric trip across all checkpoints and processors,” said the CEO.
The NIA would provide air connectivity from Noida, India’s fastest developing economic and commercial hub, as well as other significant NCR cities such as Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, and Faridabad, all of which have a huge market, urbanization, and booming population.
