Noida News (03/03/2026): Noida has firmly established itself as one of India’s most significant apparel manufacturing and export hubs. In recognition of its growing importance, the Government of Uttar Pradesh has designated District Gautam Budh Nagar as a “City of Apparel” under the One District One Product scheme, a move aimed at further boosting apparel exports from the region.

Against this backdrop, the Noida Apparel Export Cluster (NAEC) is set to organize a grand Export Awards Ceremony to celebrate the exceptional performance of its member apparel exporters for the financial year two thousand twenty-three to two thousand twenty-four. The ceremony will take place on March two, two thousand twenty-six, from six in the evening onwards at Radisson Blu MBD Hotel, located in Sector Eighteen, Noida, District Gautam Budh Nagar, Uttar Pradesh.

While Addressing the media Lalit Thukral, President of NAEC, said that the cluster regularly organizes such award functions to motivate exporters and acknowledge their outstanding contribution to the growth of the apparel sector. He noted that the upcoming ceremony holds special relevance in view of current challenges in global trade, including tariff-related issues in the United States, ongoing geopolitical uncertainties, and the impact of the Russia–Ukraine conflict on international markets.

During the ceremony, exporters demonstrating outstanding performance will be honoured across six major categories covering women’s, men’s, and children’s apparel. In each category, Gold, Silver, and Bronze trophies will be awarded to exporters securing first, second, and third positions based on export performance. To encourage and recognize women-led enterprises, a special award for Highest Export by a Woman Entrepreneur has also been instituted, highlighting excellence in entrepreneurship, leadership, and innovation in the apparel export sector. Additionally, special Gold Trophies will be presented for highest employment generation and highest export growth.

A prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award will also be conferred to honour individuals whose visionary leadership and long-standing contributions have played a pivotal role in the development of the apparel industry. This year, the award will be presented to Shashi Nangia of Swati Exim Private Limited, Vinod Kapur of Radnik Exports Global Private Limited, and Ram Kumar Sahu of Sahu Exports Private Limited.

The Chief Guest for the evening will be the Union Minister of Textiles, Government of India, Giriraj Singh, while the Member of Parliament from Gautam Budh Nagar, Mahesh Sharma, will attend as Guest of Honour. Senior officials from the Ministry of Textiles, the State Government, and the District Administration are also expected to be present and share insights on government policies, schemes, and initiatives designed to promote apparel exports.

Lalit Thukral further stated that NAEC remains fully committed to supporting government initiatives and is actively exploring new global markets despite international challenges. In this direction, the cluster facilitated the participation of Noida-based apparel exporters for the first time at Fashion SVP London in two thousand twenty-five, one of the United Kingdom’s most influential fashion sourcing events. Held at Olympia London Exhibition Centre under the ODOP scheme of the Uttar Pradesh government, the event reportedly generated encouraging business prospects. Building on this momentum, NAEC is now planning large-scale participation of exporters at Asia’s largest global textile and apparel sourcing exhibition scheduled to be held from June three to five, two thousand twenty-six at the Impact Exhibition Center in Bangkok, Thailand.

Concluding his remarks, Lalit Thukral said that NAEC has set an ambitious target to increase Noida’s annual apparel exports from approximately fifty-five thousand crore rupees to seventy thousand crore rupees over the next two to three years. He emphasized that the cluster will continue its sustained and coordinated efforts to achieve this goal and further strengthen Noida’s position on the global apparel export map.
