Noida Authority to implement city surveillance system, for traffic regulation

Noida: In an attempt to curb menace of traffic and allow seamless flow of vehicles on road, the Noida authority will implement city surveillance system in Noida, and install 80 cameras at various intersections and roundabouts of the city which will penalise the traffic violators.
“These cameras will be directly connected with the control room and will automatically identify the traffic violators. They will trace the vehicle through its number plate and will automatically generate a challan which will be directly sent to the address of vehicle owner. Through the system, the authority wants people to strictly follow traffic rules while the authority aim that the traffic congestion caused by wrong side driving and other traffic violation can be controlled,” said a senior Noida authority official.
The decision was taken in a meeting held by Noida authority Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ritu Maheshwari, Superintendent of Police (Traffic), Gautam Buddh Nagar Anil Kumar Jha and other senior officials of Noida authority. During the meeting, a power point presentation was also given by a delegation of Ernst and Young company over the Integrated Traffic Management System.
Officials said that a report will be prepared and handed over to the CEO by October 10 for further approval, and the city surveillance system will be implemented within the next nine months in Noida.
