Noida Authority to penalize buyers of encroached land

Even as anti-encroachment drives are on to rid the city of illegal structures, Noida Authority has decided to even crack down on buyers of unauthorized plots to bring down the menace. The decision was taken after the Authority faced a massive hurdle in clearing land for the Rs 1,000 crore FNG Expressway. While farmers had earlier refused to part with their land for the ambitious project, in some places they had sold their land to illegal colonizers which had to be razed by the development agency amid protests by residents.
