Greater Noida News (02/05/2026): In a significant development for aviation and regional connectivity in North India, Noida International Airport (NIA) has announced that it will commence commercial flight operations from June 15, 2026. The launch is expected to open a new gateway for passengers, airlines, and cargo operators across the National Capital Region (NCR) and beyond.
The start of operations will follow the formal inauguration of the airport by the Prime Minister and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Additionally, the airport has received the necessary clearance for its Aerodrome Security Program (ASP) from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS). This approval confirms that all safety protocols, security systems, and operational procedures meet the regulatory standards required before the initiation of commercial services.
Airlines Ready to Launch Operations
IndiGo is set to operate the inaugural flight from the airport, marking the beginning of scheduled passenger services. Shortly thereafter, Akasa Air and Air India Express are also expected to roll out their operations. Detailed information regarding routes, schedules, and passenger services will be released in the coming weeks.
Developed in response to the growing demand for air travel, Noida International Airport features a modern terminal, advanced infrastructure, and seamless multimodal connectivity. The airport is designed to ensure a smooth travel experience for passengers while offering airlines an efficient and cost-effective operating environment.
The launch of commercial operations is anticipated to significantly strengthen regional connectivity and act as a catalyst for economic growth. It is expected to enhance opportunities in tourism, trade, and investment, particularly in Noida, Greater Noida, and the wider western Uttar Pradesh region.
Noida International Airport, with the IATA code DXN, is being developed as a state-of-the-art greenfield project connecting the Delhi region with domestic and international destinations. The airport blends Swiss operational efficiency with Indian hospitality, aiming to deliver a high-quality passenger experience along with a wide range of commercial services.
The project is being implemented by Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Zurich Airport International AG, in partnership with the Government of Uttar Pradesh and the Government of India under a public-private partnership model. The concession period for the airport began on October 1, 2021, and extends for 40 years.
Currently, the airport includes one runway and a passenger terminal capable of handling approximately 12 million passengers annually. Future expansion plans aim to increase its capacity to over 70 million passengers per year, positioning it as one of the major aviation hubs in the country.
With its launch just weeks away, Noida International Airport is poised to redefine air travel in the region and play a pivotal role in India’s expanding aviation landscape.
