Noida Media Club felicitates award winning Journalists

Today, Noida Media Club organised an award function to felicitate six journalists who won Free Speech National award 2019 in the field of journalism and photojournalism.

Journalists working with TV, newspaper and digital platforms from different states participated in the competition that was ended in October 2019.

On November 3, 2019, the Noida Media Club announced the awards and declared the names of successful winners.

First prize was won by Arvind Shukla of Gaon Connection for his series on the plight of farmers, 2nd by Anand Chaudhary of Dainik Bhaskar on coverage of pathetic healthcare system and third by Ritesh Dwivedi of Dainik Jagran on corruption in journalism category.

In photojournalism category first award was won by Hindustan Times’ Sunil Gosh, 2nd by Salman Ali of Hindustan and third by Times of India’ Himanshu Singh. On this occasion a seminar on ‘impact of social media on print and TV journalism’ was also organised.

Rajysabha TV editor Arvind Kumar Singh, BBC Hindi Editor Mukesh Sharma and India TV executive editor Sushant Sinha delivered speech on seminar and honoured winners in the Free Speech award 2019.

“This is an endeavour to honour those journalists who are risking their lives to tell the untold stories to viewers. This award is an initiative to encourage journalism that gives voice to voiceless. And in future this award will identify more talented journalists in different states of the country. We thank all journalists and friends for extending support for this effort,” said Vinod Rajput general secretary of Noida Media Club at the event that saw people from all walks of life attended the function.

All the senior journalists of Noida and other areas were present and Noida Media Club acknowledged their contribution in making the city a better place.
