Greater Noida :  In a letter to Noida Authority CEO Ritu Maheshwari on 16th Feburary, Rajiva Singh, President, NOFAA requested authority’s support in Special Safai campaign for vacant plots in various sectors of Noida.

As of now, every sector in Noida has a large number of vacant plots which are quite often used as garbage dumping hotspots making the city filthy. In the letter, Rajiva Singh shared a road map of how this campaign will be run. “First we need to identify them and make a list of all such vulnerable points. With the help of administration, RWAs and AOAs can take ownership, and make sure these plots are kept garbage free.”

“Educating the residents and domestic help in the respective sectors and surrounding areas need to be taken up. These plots may be cordoned with the help of plot owners which will lead to a sustainable solution. Signboards on these plots or walls will appeal not to dispose of garbage in these vacant plots.”

“We all look forward in making Noida one of the cleanest cities in the country and set examples for others to follow. With the people’s movement catching up fast, we need to start with a more focused approach in our gated societies. All NOFAA member societies would be more than delighted to extend their helping hands in achieving our common objective of clean Noida.” He added further

Noida has been adjudged 25th cleanest city with a population between 1 and 10 lakh in the country and the first in Uttar Pradesh in the Centre’s Swachh Survekshan 2020.
