Noida’s Encounter With Monsoon : Hours of Rain, Day of Trouble !

Monsoon usually fills most people with happy memories and delightful tales, however for the residents of Noida the word is turning in to a nightmare.

Noida residents have been facing the fury of rains since many years. The hours of downpour convert in to kilometres of traffic jam, hours of power outage and heavy waterlogging in many areas.

The calendar has been changing year after year but these striking traits of Noida rain hasn’t changed much with time. Thursday’s heavy shower once again highlighted the inability of the city’s infrastructure to deal with heavy rain and related issues.

Multiple societies and sectors encountered water logging problem after today’s rainfall. The vehicles parked at usual places were today found submerged in water by the owners. The situation on roads was not different and many feet of water was collected over many main roads. This also led to long traffic Jam’s

As the day proceeded the Authority also sprung into action and pumps were installed at different points to get water out of main roads.

However speaking to Ten News Noida Authority OSD Rajesh Singh said, “There has been heavy downpour of rain and because of the same water has accumulated at some spots but it’s not exactly water logging and water is naturally getting drained. We have also installed pumps where necessary”

Citizens of sector 36, sector 18 market, Supertech sector 77 etc faced major inconvenience due to today’s rain.
