North East India: Empowering Service Industry- Transforming Asia

A special session on North East India- CLMV Economic Integration and Empowering Service Industry-leading Transforming Asia was organized on sidelines of Ongoing Global Exhibition of Services.
The session was moderated by Dr Gulashan Sharma, Director General, International Chamber for Service Industry (ICSI).
P D Sona, Parliamentary secretary tourism, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, Sudhanshu Pandey, Jt sec. ministry of commerce and industry, Govt. Of India, Sandeep Marwah, founder president, AAFT and SouthamSakonhninhom l, Ambassador, Embassy of Lao PDR were some of the distinguished guests at the session.
During the seminar it was pointed that during last ten years India’s total trade with the CLMV countries has grown from US$1.4 billion in 2005 to US$ 10.3 billion in 2015, with more than seven fold increase.
The session focussed on highlighting untapped potential of Services sector such as Education, Skills Development, Aviation, Herbal Health-related Wellness, Media and Entertainment Industry, IT & Telecom etc. to promote business opportunities within and outside the region simultaneously.
