Online gambling busted, 24 arrested

Mathura, Oct 21 (PTI) At least 24 people were arrested for being allegedly involved in online gambling here, with the police recovering Rs 38,000 and other electronic goods from their possession.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team raided three places near the Highway area here yesterday and arrested 24 people, SP (City) Shailendra Pandey said.

The accused were running a gambling racket online and were collecting money through different online gambling payment methods in the garb of a quiz show, he said.

Money worth Rs 38,000, an LCD, computer and other electronic goods were recovered from their possession, police added.
