Original Pasoori Singer Shae Gill Opens Up about Backlash Against Remake

Mumbai, 29th June 2023: Since the release of the new version of Pakistani hit track Pasoori, the makers of ‘Satya Prem Ki Katha’, starring Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani, have faced humongous criticism.

The remade track’s music video includes actors Kiara Advani and Kiara Advani and is sung by Arijit Singh and Tulsi Kumar.

Pasoori, originally performed by Ali Sethi and Shae Gill, Pasoori was the most-searched song on Google in 2022. In the midst of the growing criticism against Pasoori Nu, Shae took to Instagram and asked fans not to express hate to the team of the new song.

She said, “I actually found out about the remake through you guys but also, I wanted to talk about all of the hate that people have been sending towards the new song. I understand that you all love the original Pasoori so much and I am so grateful for all the love. I can’t even begin to express how grateful I am but also at the same time I don’t want you to be sending hate to someone else.”

She further defended the new song makers and said, “And if it’s something you don’t like at all then I would say don’t listen to it. Instead of sending hate, don’t listen to it because not liking something and talking about it in your home is still fine but if you are publicly humiliating and insulting someone then it’s not very nice, is it?”

The romantic film, directed by Sameer Vidwans and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, reunites Kartik and Kiara after their 2022 success ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’.

Originally named ‘Satyanarayan Ki Katha’, the film tells the narrative of Satyanarayan, another name for the Hindu God Vishnu. However, due of public outcry, it was renamed ‘Satyaprem Ki Katha’.
