Over 150 school buses running without fitness certificate in G B Nagar

(04/05/2017) Noida : ‘Don’t dig well after the house is on fire’, is a well known, well-meaning proverb, however quite contrary to it district transport department seems to be waiting for some serious mishap before strictly enforcing school buse guidelines in the district.

School buses flouting traffic rules such as driving on wrong side or jumping red lights isn’t much of an uncommon site in the district. However what may shock many is the fact that over hundred of these buses are plying even without a fitness certificate.

As per official figure of transport department, 151 School Buses are running without a safety certificate as of 03 May, 2017. Indeed what can only be described as complete apathy and negligence on the part of the concerned officials, the June, 2016 data also had 156 such school buses on its record.

However now the transport department officials have assured that a drive will be conducted to take necessary action against those who are found flouting Supreme Court guidelines.
