P Chidambaram sent to Tihar Jail for two weeks in INX Media case!
New Delhi(05/09/2019): The Central Bureau of Investigation court sent former Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram to judicial custody till September 19 in connection with the INX Media case today!
Top Court had rejected P Chidambaram’s plea earlier this morning for anticipatory bail in the INX Media case registered by the Enforcement Directorate.
Two FIRs have been filed in Guwahati and Dibrugarh against Assam’s National Register of Citizens Coordinator Prateek Hajela for allegedly excluding Indians from the updated citizens’ list deliberately.
Also the top court allowed Jammu and Kashmir leader Mehbooba Mufti’s daughter to go and visit her mother in Srinagar.
Mufti was arrested in early August when the Centre announced its decision to revoke the state’s special constitutional status.
