‘Paathshala Express’ – A Creative Educational Journey to the National Gallery of Modern Art by Rotaract Club of GL Bajaj

Greater Noida, 4th July 2025: Rotaract Club of GL Bajaj organized a unique educational initiative titled ‘Paathshala Express’, aimed at connecting underprivileged children with the world of art, history, and creativity. As part of this initiative, a total of 70 children were taken on an enriching visit to the National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi.

The project was carried out under the leadership of Club President Rtr. Siddhartha Singh, with valuable guidance from Faculty Coordinator Ms. Priyanka Datta and Dean of Student Welfare Dr. Mahaveer Singh Naruka. Six dedicated volunteers from the club ensured smooth execution and actively managed the children and all logistical arrangements.

During the visit, the children were introduced to Indian art forms, styles, historical paintings, and the works of various renowned artists. Experts at the gallery shared insightful knowledge, sparking curiosity and deepening the children’s understanding of Indian culture.

Following the visit, a drawing session titled ‘Kalpana Ki Udaan’ (Flight of Imagination) was conducted, where children expressed what they had seen or envisioned for their future through vibrant artwork. This creative exercise enhanced their perspective, imagination, and self-confidence.

As part of the ‘Gyaan Gifting’ activity, drawing kits and art books were distributed among the children. In the ‘Smile Diary’ session, each child wrote a one-line dream, giving voice to their aspirations.

The most remarkable outcome of the project was that the children did not remain passive observers but embraced art as a medium of self-expression. Their creativity, confidence, and curiosity for learning visibly flourished.

‘Paathshala Express’ was not merely an excursion but a transformative experience that offered inspiration, joy, and artistic exploration. It reflected the Rotaract Club’s strong commitment to social responsibility and inclusive education.
