Patriotic performances and Yoga display mark memorable Independence Day celebrations at Ursuline Covent Greater Noida

Greater Noida : Ursuline  Convent Senior Secondary School, Greater Noida today celebrated the 72nd Independence Day with zeal and spirit of patriotism befitting the occasion.

 

Indian tricolor was unfurled by the Chief Guest Gajanan Mali, founder of PariChowk.com and Ten News and the guest of honour Sister Nirupa, Provincial Head Of Ursuline Sisters . The flag hoisting was followed by  march-past by the school students.

.Under the able guidance of Principal Sister Gracy a wonderful patriotic bonanza was designed and presented by the School students.

 

“Total of 600 students participated in the I-Day .”We tried to ensure that maximum student participate in Independence Day Celebrations “ said the Principal. . Senior student Preeti gave a power packed speech on  Independence Day enlightening the real meaning of the Independence, she also urged today’s generation to value the freedom that has been secured after the sacrifices of many.

 Student sang patriotic songs making audience enthralled with feeling of patriotism. Program continued for 2 hours and a number of mesmerizing performances by the students were displayed. Tiny tots also performed an energetic dances over a  patriotic number . Further little girls group dance performance on a Rajasthani folk song ‘Rangilo Maro Desh’, showcasing the diversity of Indian Culture.  Colorful presentation received much deserved applause from the audience present.
There after students of class 12th toppers were fellicited with trophies who awarded to the students who obtained  highest marks in their class. During this award presentation proud parents  of student also remained present on stage to encourage and motivate their wards.

 

 A play over the heinous Jallianwala Bagh massacre, also known as the Amritsar massacre was very gracefully presented by the students.
The highlight of the program was the Yoga performance given by students making every one amazed with there different assanas. Usually  a Yoga performance is not seen in schools on Independence day but here to highlight the art of Yoga as a wonderful gift to the whole world from India it was performed.

 

Chief Guest Gajanan Mali in his Independence Day address inspired the students with the history of planned development of India , milestones achieved so far by India , PM’s special development programmes and mission of developed nation.
The event culminated with prize distribution and vote of thanks.
