‘Pitch! Please’ Inter College Music Fest organized by Global Music Institute Greater Noida!

Global Music Institute organized its first inter-college fest in form of A Cappella Competition- Pitch, Please! On 16th march, 11 am wherein around 200 students from 13 colleges performed and competed with each other for the cash prize of INR 10 K along with the scholarship on GMI summer programs.

Lady Shri Ram College for Women, emerged the winner and walked away with a cash award of INR 10,000, winner’s trophy, a certificate of merit from GMI, and exclusive GMI merchandise.

Speaking about the event, Aditya Balani, Founder & Director, GMI, said, “We are really happy to be the first music college in India to host the inter-college a cappella competition. It is a great opportunity for these young singers to interact, compete, and learn from each other, apart from receiving feedback from the professionals.

A cappella music is specifically group or solo singing without instrumental accompaniment, or a piece intended to be performed in this way. It contrasts with cantata, which is usually accompanied singing.

200 students of 13 different colleges like Kamala Nehru College, Hindu College, Gargi College, Lady Shri Ram College for Women, Shri Ram College of Commerce from Delhi University apart from that IIT Delhi participated in the competition. The winners were rewarded with a cash prize of 10 thousand.
