New Delhi, 17 October 2022: Following CBI’s summons to Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia today, Sisodia has linked the summons to the upcoming Gujarat state assembly elections.

The senior AAP leader claimed he might be “arrested in a bogus case” as part of the BJP’s scheme to prevent him from campaigning in the election-bound state, reiterating the assertion made by his party yesterday.

In a tweet today, Sisodia stated that in a few days, I was scheduled to travel to Gujarat for the election campaign. They want to prevent me from traveling to Gujarat. The BJP is afraid because it knows it is losing Gujarat. “But my going to jail will not stop the Gujarat election campaign,” he further stated.

The AAP leader has been requested to appear before the federal investigation agency on Monday at 11 a.m. at its Delhi headquarters. Several phases of interrogation have been planned by the agency, according to sources. They stated the Deputy Chief Minister would be presented with the evidence that has been uncovered thus far and the testimonies of the other defendants.

In a video he tweeted, Sisodia could be seen touching his mother’s feet and asking for her blessing before heading to the CBI office. Atishi and Saurabh Bhardwaj, as well as AAP MP Sanjay Singh and MLAs, were also in attendance at his home.

Sisodia further claimed that when they searched the house earlier, they didn’t discover anything against him, and they won’t today either. By locking him up, they (the BJP) can’t win the election.

Speaking to supporters in front of the AAP office, Sisodia said, “They searched my residence, but nothing was found. They searched my village for evidence but came up empty-handed. They now intend to get me arrested to prevent me from running for office in Gujarat.”

Simultaneously, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal defended his deputy and claimed the charges against him were totally bogus. “He was supposed to go to Gujarat for the election campaign. In an attempt to stop him, he would be arrested. But the election campaign will not stop. Every person of Gujarat is canvassing for the AAP today,” he added.
