New Delhi, August 28, 2023: In an address to the Rozgar Mela event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday underscored the importance of physical fitness and yoga for the newly recruited personnel in the central armed police forces. The event marked the digital transfer of appointment letters to 51,106 recruits for the central armed police forces, the Narcotics Control Bureau, and the Delhi Police.
Encouraging the new appointees to prioritize their physical fitness, Modi noted the demanding nature of their job, which is not confined by time and often involves adverse weather conditions. He stated, “Your job is not timebound. You have to face the wrath of the weather. Hence, physical fitness is of utmost importance to you. If you are fit physically, half of the work is done in a jiffy,” through a video conference.
Addressing the recruits’ mental well-being, the Prime Minister advised them to incorporate yoga into their daily routines. He remarked, “You should practice yoga every day. A stable mind will give you greater strength in your work. Yoga is not just physical exercise, it is necessary if you have to maintain a healthy and stable mind, particularly to keep yourself tension-free while discharging your duties.”
The Rozgar Mela event, organized by the Home Ministry, facilitated the finalization of appointments to various central armed police forces, including the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Border Security Force (BSF), Shashtra Seema Bal (SSB), Assam Rifles, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), and Delhi Police.
Recruits from different regions of the country were selected for various positions such as Constable (General Duty), Sub-Inspector (General Duty), and Non-General Duty Cadre Posts within organizations under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The Prime Minister’s emphasis on physical fitness and yoga reflects the holistic approach towards ensuring the well-being and preparedness of security personnel in their challenging roles.
