New Delhi, July 25, 2023: In a scathing critique of the opposition, Prime Minister Narendra Modi labeled them as “defeated, tired, and hopeless” with a singular agenda of opposing him. Addressing the weekly meeting of the BJP parliamentary party, PM Modi expressed his dismay at the newly formed opposition alliance, INDIA (Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance), mocking their choice of name.

The Prime Minister highlighted the irony of the name “INDIA” by pointing out that groups like Indian National Congress, East India Company, Indian Mujahideen, and Popular Front of India also fall under the same acronym. He asserted that simply using the country’s name does not hold any substance or credibility.

The political showdown intensified amid the Manipur crisis and repeated disruptions in parliament over demands for PM Modi’s statement on various issues, including a viral video depicting the assault of two women paraded naked by a mob in May.

PM Modi expressed confidence that the BJP would easily secure victory in the upcoming 2024 national election, driven by the unwavering support of the people.

However, the ongoing standoff in parliament over the Manipur issue has hampered the government’s legislative agenda. The monsoon session, which commenced last Thursday, has seen frequent adjournments with limited business being conducted.

Regarding the Manipur tragedy, PM Modi assured the nation that those responsible would not escape justice and pledged to take appropriate action according to the law.

The opposition, forming the “INDIA” coalition for this session, has demanded a comprehensive statement from the Prime Minister in both houses of parliament. In response, the government has offered a discussion on the Manipur situation, but it accuses the opposition of deliberately obstructing legislative progress through their protests.
