Positivity Awards: Ram Nath Kovind heaps praises on Dr Mandakini, Prakash Amte for pioneering social work

New Delhi, November 18, 2022: On Wednesday, the second Edition of National Summit on Leadership in Positivity and Gems Positivity Award was organised by Movement of Positivity at Civil Services’ Officers’ Institute, New Delhi.

Chief Guest for the occasion was Ram Nath Kovind, former President of India, who however humbly declared Dr Amte Couple as the Chief Guest with the concurrence of august gathering.

In his inaugural address he showered praise on the recipients of the Lifetime Achievement Award of Movement of Positivity for their philanthropic work. He noted, “Dr Mandakini and Dr Prakash Amte are glowing examples of the movement of positivity. I wish the award winners will continue to enrich the ecosystems towards which they contribute.” He further noted that positive and optimistic people are those who possess a “glass half full” outlook towards life. He further added, “All the people sitting at the dias have displayed leadership positively through sustained contributions for the welfare of the people. Due to such people, the idea of positivity overcomes the forces of negativity.”

Reiterating Mahatma Gandhi’s words on rights and duties, Guest of Honour Justice Arun Kumar Mishra, Chairperson, NHRC said , “Rights and responsibilities may seem like two different concepts but they are interlinked with each other.”Justice Mishra also addressed the different fundamental duties that have been rendered to Indian citizens including the promotion of harmony and brotherhood transcending religious, linguistic, and regional or sectional diversities.

Dr Dnyaneshwar Mulay, Ex IFS Officer and Member of National Human Rights Commission, founder and patron of the Institute of Positivity in his welcome address said , “This summit is very unique in nature. Positivity is a virtue which is deeply rooted in our culture. We only have to look at the Indian constitution to realize the widespread influence of Positivity in our country.” Speaking on the Movement of Positivity, Dr Mulay said, “Inclusivity, constructive approach to life, and creativity are at the core of our movement. It is extremely crucial to possess a holistic approach towards things which is why we have paved the way for movement of positivity.” He also heaped praises on Dr. Mandakini and Dr. Prakash Amte for their social work and positive impact on our society especially lakhs of tribal people .

For their immense contributions to the society, Dr. Mandakini Amte and Dr. Prakash Amte were honored with Lifetime Achievement Award by former president Ram Nath Kovind. In her address to Dr Mandakini expressed her gratitude to Dr BR Ambedkar, social reformer and father of the Indian constitution, for significant contributions during his lifetime. During her address, she spoke about the work done to erect hospitals, schools and various other facilities to support the downtrodden and enhance the quality of their lives.

In his address, Dr Prakash Amte expounded upon the challenges they faced while trying to help various backward communities including earning their trust.Dr Prakash Baba Amte had previously been honored with the Magsaysay Award for Community Leadership in 2008 .

The summit was addressed by other eminent personalities from various walks of life.
