Delhi, Sept 3rd, 2022: President Draupadi Murmu is scheduled to meet a delegation of Aam Aadmi Party(AAP) members on September 7th next week to discuss BJP’s ‘Operation Lotus’.

According to reports, the delegation wants to meet the President to apprise her about ‘Operation Lotus’ as it poses “a serious threat to democracy in India.”

The AAP legislators lodged a complaint with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) demanding a probe against the BJP’s ‘Operation Lotus’ under which the saffron party allegedly “destabilized and toppled” governments of other parties in various states since it came to power at the Centre in 2014 by “buying” the members of other parties.

The AAP leaders claimed that the BJP has bought a total of 277 MLAs of other parties to topple their governments so far under ‘Operation Lotus’ and spent “an estimated Rs 6,300 crore” for it while demanding a CBI probe into it.

The Arvind-Kejriwal-led party further claimed that 40 AAP MLAs, including Deputy CM of Delhi Manish Sisodia, were offered 20 crores each to quit the party and join BJP but all of them stayed loyal to their party.

“I’m happy to share that the Hon’ble President has given time to meet a delegation of @AamAadmiParty MLAs on 7th September. We had sought time to apprise her on ‘Operation Lotus’ – a serious threat to democracy in India,” Atishi Marlena, member of AAP, said in a tweet.
