 Today Sr. B.J.P. Leader, Delhi State, Vice Chairman, NDMC and Former MLA Shri Karan Singh Tanwar  drew the kind attention of Central Defence Minister, Shri Manohar Parrikar towards taking over the possession of 100 years old Hanuman Mandir at Delhi Cantt at Gun Point by cordoning off the Mandir Complex on 09.05.2016 at 3.00 AM by Station Commander Brig. Jai Singh.

Shri Tanwar described the details of the incident which have taken place in the mid night for the possession of the Mandir by Brig. Jai Singh that Brig. Jai Singh alongwith Armed Force arrived in the mid night at Mandir and entered the Mandir with shoes and beaten up the Pujari who was asleep at that time and throw him out of the temple.  Not even this they took away their belongings and stationed one Pujari of Army Unit.  He placed a Board outside the temple and this Temple belongs to Army and being look after by the Army.

After hearing the screams of the Pandit & Pujaries, the residents of Gopinath Bazar and Members of the Management Committee of Temple gathered and called on Police on making a Call at 100 Number.  But Police on site also seems to be helpless in front of large contingent of Army and Brig. Jai Singh chased away the public in presence of Police.

It is important to note that Brig. Jai Singh sealed the donation boxes for the last fifteen days of100 year old Hanuman Mandir built by the civilian of Delhi Cantt and not even this damaged the Idols and Locked the main gate of Mandir.

Shri Tanwar told that the version of Station Commander Brig. Jai Singh that this Mandir is situated on the A-1 Military Land and Management has lost the case in the Court is completely white lie and unwarranted, irresponsible and baseless.  Shri Tanwar questioned that If this Mandir is situated on the Military Land then why the permission is

granted to the civilians to look after the Mandir for  the last 100 years by Military Authorities?  How all of sudden Brig. Jai Singh reminiscence about this?  It is a known fact that in all over India No Building Plans are sanctioned for Mandir, Mosque, Church or Gurudwaras etc. and these structures exists on Govt. Land viz. DDA, MCD, PWD and Forest Department.  As far as that Management has lost the case in the Court is completely spurious because the matter is still pending in the
Hon’ble Court of Session Judge Shri S.S. Rathi and next date of hearing is 16.05.2016.

Shri Tanwar further told that Station Commander Brig. Jai Singh is not only dictator but also corrupt and who as President, Delhi Cantonment Board is involved in Scam worth crores of rupees.  Taking the illegal possession in dictatorial way of temple in the night hours is like conquering the Temple in Pakistan.  This act on the part of Brig. Jai Singh is a black spot on the face of our dedicated Army.  We are proud of our Brave Army who are defeating the enemy Army and protecting our Borders.  This is the Indian Army who are sacrificing their lives to defeat the ill ways of enemy Army.  But this dictator Station Commander by ways of his actions is making the Army infamous.   Army is to protect the country and not to run the Temples.

At last Shri Tanwar urged Central Defence Minister Shri Manohar Parrikar to immediately suspend Station Commander Brig. Jai Singh and get the whole matter be investigated by the High Level Committee otherwise I shall be compelled to sit on one day Token Dharna alongwith thousand of local residents on 23.05.2016 in the Delhi Cantt office of Area Commander Lt. General Rajan Ravindran to register our protest against the dictator Brig. Jai Singh who is terrorizing the people by way of his actions and for handing over back the Temple to local people.
