Prime Minister’s Message on Food Wastage Sets the Tone for Hunger Free Bharat’s RCL Season 4 Press Meet

Lucknow, 28th August 2026: A special press meet in Lucknow brought together Hunger Free Bharat, RCL – Restaurant Cricket League, leading film personalities and the Indian Women’s Deaf Cricket Team around one powerful message — food must be respected, shared and never wasted.

The press meet was opened by Arvind Kumar, Founder, Hunger Free Bharat, with an audio presentation from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Mann Ki Baat” highlighting the importance of preventing food wastage and respecting the value of food. The message set the tone for the gathering and reinforced the need for collective action against hunger and food waste.

Arvind Kumar along with celebrated actors Raza Murad, Aroon Bakshi and Avtar Gill and representatives of the Indian Women’s Deaf Cricket Team spoke about using the popularity of cricket and cinema to create meaningful social impact.

“10 Runs = 100 Meals”

At the heart of RCL Season 4, scheduled to be held in New Delhi this October is the unique commitment that every 10 runs scored will contribute towards 100 meals for underprivileged people. RCL Season 4 will bring together diverse teams, including the Indian Women’s Deaf Cricket Team, farmers, transpersons, chefs, influencers, Delhi Police, school teams and other distinguished participants.

Arvind Kumar, Founder of Hunger Free Bharat and RCL, said:
Food is a blessing and wasting it while someone is hungry is something we must collectively change. Through RCL, we want every run to carry a purpose — 10 runs, 100 meals. Our real victory will not be the score on the board but the number of hungry people we are able to reach.”

Indian Women’s Deaf Cricket Team expressed pride in being part of RCL Season 4 and said that the league provides an opportunity not only to showcase their talent and determination but also to contribute to a meaningful social cause. Their participation represents the strong message of inclusion at the heart of RCL.

Veteran actor Raza Murad expressed his support for the initiative, emphasizing that the fight against hunger is a responsibility that belongs to everyone.If cricket can turn runs into meals and entertainment into service then it becomes much more than a game.

Actor Aroon Bakshi said: We celebrate so many occasions with food but we must also remember those who cannot afford a meal. The idea of connecting every 10 runs with 100 meals is simple, emotional and powerful. Let our celebrations become a reason for someone else to smile.”

Actor Avtar Gill highlighted the importance of changing attitudes towards food wastage. He added that if popularity as artists can help spread this message, we should consider it our responsibility and privilege.

Lucknow press meet reinforced the vision that sport, cinema and public participation can become powerful instruments for social change. RCL Season 4 aims to take this message beyond the cricket field and create greater awareness around hunger, food wastage, responsible food consumption and social responsibility.
