Priyanka Gandhi Finally meet victims of Sonbhadra shootout, says ‘My objective has been served’

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Friday detained and stopped from going to Sonbhadra where 10 people were gunned down this week, triggering a standoff with the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh.



Priyanka Gandhi today finally met the relatives of victims of Sonbhadra shootout after being detained for 24 hours. She met two relatives but 15 others were not allowed to see her, Gandhi said. Meanwhile, 3 TMC leaders, including MP Derek O’Brien, were detained in Varanasi.

When the families realized that Priyanka gandhi has come to meet them and police isn’t allowing her, they rode tractor for 20kms & walked for 70kms to meet her. But police stopped them for 4hrs till they were allowed.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, after meeting the families of the Sonbhadra shootout victims following a night of detention and high drama in Uttar Pradesh, has decided to return home to Delhi, but with a promise that she will return. “I’ll be back,” she said outside the guest house in Mirzapur district where he had been taken by the police on Friday.

“My objective has been served as I have met them. I am still under detention, let’s see what the administration says,” Priyanka Gandhi told reporters.
