PVR announced the comeback of PVR Anupam in new Avatar! Superstar Shah Rukh Khan graces the session as a chief guest!

New Delhi(24/10/2019): PVR, a name synonymous with credibility, innovation and refined cinema-viewing, announced today the renovation of India’s first multiplex, PVR Anupam.

The property, introduced in 1997, has been an epitome of a modern cinema theatre in its era and has received opulent love from its viewers for over two decades.

The curtain was drawn in the presence of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Bijli, the Chairman and Managing Director, PVR Ltd as well as Sanjeev Kumar Bijli, the Joint Managing Director, PVR Ltd. PVR Anupam opened with the screening of Yes Boss in 1997, and has mapped an extensive journey celebrating India’s cinema culture since.

Carrying the legacy of PVR ahead to offer differentiated experience and modern cinema-viewing, PVR Anupam is set to don a new style for the capital’s movie enthusiasts.

Marking his presence at the event, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan stated, “Two decades of the theatre, spreading love, laughter and entertainment among the cine-goers. It is a great feeling to be here and witness this love and enthusiasm. Cinema has been an integral part of India’s entertainment ecosystem, and as actors, producers, directors or exhibitors it is the love for movies which strives us to keep performing and live up to the expectations of the audience.”

Addressing the media, Ajay Bijli, Chairman and Managing Director, PVR Ltd. said, “This shows we have come a long way and the journey would not have been possible without the love and support from our partners, film fraternity and audience. PVR Anupam is extremely special as it is the first multiplex in India and marks the beginning of my journey in this industry.”
