Jaipur, 1st June 2023: Rajasthan government has decided to further extend their free electricity promise based on public feedback.
CM Ashok Gehlot’s cabinet made the announcement that free electricity for over 100 units and a fixed rate for the next 100 is what the scheme would now be available as.
The leadership announced that the decision was taken after considering the inflation relief camps and talking to the public, where there was feedback that there should be a slight change in the slab-wise exemption in electricity bills.
This is the Congress’s first major announcement since December, when CM Gehlot pledged massive cooking gas subsidies. Prices were cut by more than half in order to deliver 12 cylinders every year at Rs 500 apiece.
The government also established a major health insurance scheme last year, which provides free medical services up to Rs 25 lakh at government institutions. The minimum monthly stipend under the social security plan has also been increased to 1,000.
