Executive Director of Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts, Rakesh Kumar said that the credit for entry of IHGF-Delhi fair as the largest congregation of handicrafts producers under one roof in LIMCA book of world records goes to each and every stakeholder, including exhibitors, buyers, designers and team EPCH.

“We have 3064 handicrafts and textile exhibitors participating in the on- going Delhi Fair from all over India especially from North” Kumar said. The theme AQUA – OCEAN has been the special feature of the Delhi Fair 2017 where large number of water color designs and products has been showcased in the Fair. “This time we have special product designs from north eastern region , Uttar Pradesh is the major contributor in the Fair which is followed by Rajasthan,” he added.

“We have team of experts to look what is going to sell in the fair, mostly textile, life style products and furniture are in great demand,” he said. Asked about the response from the buyers coming from different countries He said that the numbers of buyers have increased and the response from them is quite interesting and are expecting a major turnover of Rs 3000 crore target till the last day of the Fair.

He further said that during next edition of IHGF-Delhi fair, EPCH will come up with a procedure for design registration, in order to safeguard the interest of the creator of the item and discourage copying of products amongst the community of handicrafts manufacturers.
